Want to touch the porsche...
I saw this bad boy on a trailer on EB 680 yesterday. Sorry the pic is crappy. How do you tell if it is a real 914 6? It had all the right badging...
Some 60-70 year old lady towing it. hahhahaha!!!

It is difficult to tell if it is a converted 914-4 unless you look inside or underneath. The 914-6's had the ignition switch on the dashboard like the 911's and the 914's had them on the steering column. With most conversions, moving the ignition switch is seldom done. Also, if you look under the car, the engine on the 914-6 is attached to a bulkhead on the firewall. The converted cars have an engine mount bar that supports the engine. It is rare that you see a converted car with the engine mount bulkhead on the firewall (they are very difficult to find, expensive and have to be welded on).
Hard to tell from the pic but did that car have Jaegermeister stickers on it? I used to know a guy (heavy white haired guy) who converted 914-6 to replicate the Jaegermeister car. He lived on the Peninsula. If I remember correctly, he had a few different engines for the car. He had a 2 liter that pumped out about 210 hp (used that for vintage racing), and a highly modified 2.8 RSR engine for the car for club racing (I think it had 250-300 hp). I think the car weighed about 1800#'s.
If I had the money and time, I'd love to do that with my car. I should have taken my buddy's offer to convert my car to the old Camel GTU specs. He wanted to drop a 2.5 liter 250 hp engine into the car, change the suspension to coilovers, and put 911 turbo brakes into it. He also wanted to cut the fenders off and put fiberglass GT fenders on the car. It just didn't feel right to me to cut car up a perfectly good car. Now he's putting the parts into a '69 911. Oh well, lost opportunities.

Yup. Saw a real one at a car show. Very rarified air. If I remember correctly, there were only 16 built. Two of them had boxer 8's in them (908 engines). One went to Ferry Porsche and a second went to Ferdinand Peich.
There was actually one that went up for sale a few years back. I think they were asking 500k for it.
