So why would cyclists use steroids if it slowed them down? Or runners? They give huge gains in a small period of time, hence why they are popular among athletes. They won't turn you into Brock Lesnar unless you hit the weights hard. Strength plays a factor in swinging a bat to hit home runs. I will agree that he has other talents which help, but he will be scrutinized because of all the accusations.

Steroids don't make you stronger!? LMAO!!!!

That's the most uninformed thing I've heard all day.

Trust me, steroids make you stronger than a human can achieve naturally.

on the zero rings topic.

That is because they didn't surround bonds with much of anything most of the time. hitting or pitching. never both.

He damn near carried them to a ring by himself when PITCHING killed them.

He kept them competitive despite crappy teams.

You think those teams would have been jack crap with no bonds? you think jeff kent would have done what he did? Rich Aurillia? Etc.

seriously. Look at how people have done AFTER they left sitting behind or in front of bonds.

look at how many allstar games he's been in. MVP's. Oh...and gold gloves. Then look at total walks. Hits. Stolen bases.

People forget that bonds has been THE complete player most of his career. He can still play a decent left field when he needs to. How many 43 year olds do you see actively playing the outfield? And diving and making catches when the time calls for it?

I won't even get into experience factor.

on that note. Have you ever done the same work with and without steriods?

I did a LOT of working out in my younger days. A lot of it with guys using roids. I gained more mass and more strength than all but one of them...without it.

I've seen studies using, where they use placebo's. Steroids don't do anything by themselves except help you heal better...regenerate muscle. Which allows you to work out harder and build more mass. Why they are so popular with pitchers.

Don't they test heavily for the worlds strongest man competitions?

Trust me, I was in the scene for almost 10 years. Know tons of people, and yeah, done the same work with and without.

Any fool knows they make you stronger.

Was benching over 300... curling almost 170lbs

Without... not so much. Thats just test.

Oh, and no they dont test worth a damn for the strong man comps... And even if they did, theres ways around the test... you juice in the off season, dont in the on season... You lose some strength in the on season when you come off of that crap, but you still gain a lot from doing it.

The studies you read were crap.

lets talk stats

from his rookie('86) season til the '99 season bonds hit 445 HR's in 6973 at bats, that averages out to 31.7 HRs per season, and average of 1 HR for every 15.66 at bats. ok now in seasons '00-'04, he hit 258 HRs in 2122 at bats, an average of 1 HR every 8.22 at bats and an average of 51.6 HRs a year.. hmm noticing a trend? also, his hits per season average from 86-99 (143.57) and 00-04(144) are nearly identical. im not arguing about his hitting ability, he has always been a respectable hitter...but there came a point in his career where he wasnt hitting doubles and pop flys anymore, he was hitting HRs instead...add to the fact that he has admitted to "unknowingly" taking steroids.. and its a lock..whatever he took helped him hit the ball further, period.

edit, let me rephrase so my words are not taken out of context.whatever he took, helped him hit the ball harder AND further...
furthermore, i am a baseball fan, i think its kinda cool that records are broken in my time, i even went to a giants game last year and bonds even hit one that game, and the giants won the game in extra innings, it was an exciting game..but i am not a giants fan.. i am a baseball fan, but it would be pretty ignorant for someone to not question him when you look at what he has said to a grand jury and by looking at his stats.. they speak for themselves

taken from sfgate:

Dr. Bill Harrison, who has tested ballplayers' eyes since the early '70s and is employed by the Braves, worked for the Pirates when Bonds was their hot prospect.

Harrison said Bonds' eyes are two of a kind. In spring training in 1986, while Harrison was evaluating all the players in camp, he met Bonds, who made his big-league debut that year.

"It was remarkable. The best eyes I ever saw," Harrison said. "He was so good, I left the area and went and told (general manager) Syd Thrift. I've seen thousands and thousands of players, and he was by far the best. When you have that tremendous vision, the ball slows down, and when the ball looks slow, you get a tremendous amount of confidence.

"With most older players, the ball looks like an aspirin tablet, and that's how they can lose their confidence. Barry's able to quickly recognize pitches and lay off them if he doesn't like them. It's about the ultimate hand-eye coordination. It's amazing he has retained it all these years."
this is back from 1986 people. when he was just a kid.

Yea, blame Barry Bonds' attitude for the Giants trading away Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano, and Boof Bosner for AJ frickin' Pierzyski a few years ago. Oh, also blame them for sleeping on making a move to get Alfonso Soriano (among others) last winter too. Hahaha. Man, who freakin' runs this team?

Good info. I just remember hearing recently of someone getting booted for getting caught.

I personally have never used. My only experience is with people I worked out with and they always got frustrated when I got on there and kicked there asses clean. I just did it with weight gainer and eggs. O.G. haaa.

Went from 168-208. Couldn't find a hipsled that could hold enough weight.

Just saying what I've read.
