its too find out what kinds of people live where and do what and get what types of sicknesses.. and im not pro affirmative action.. I dont think we should know what color you are when you apply for anything.. but we should know what kinds of people get and do what and learn from it.. orage people get more of somethings then purple people.. we need to learn why.. its to help.. yeah..

 

LOOK dumbass.. people of different color are different insides as well.. some people of a certin race get more of some deasises then others do.. Like a black person might get brain cancer way more then a white person.. they want to know why.. by looking at where people live they might be able to figure it out.. people of certin races seem to live in the same areas.. and by looking at this they might figure out for some reason black people live near something that cause problems..

you have black people that live near a lake.. then you have some white people that live near a forest.. but for some reason 10:1 black people get brain cancer.. they look at the data and find out most black people live near the lake.. they take samples of the lake and find out oh the lake is causing it.. with out the info they wouldnt get help.. damn it.. its not like they are using the data so that they wont put a new school in the area black people live.. or to deny everyone in the area access to college.. its just for info..

 

No, but as is the case with a LOT of legislation, good idea, poor implementation. There needs to be an exception for medical research, which was the strongest argument by FAR against Prop 54.

To me, the dangerous part about a law like Prop 54 is that it removes a check and balance. Say you can't collect race data, then you get some [Insert Ethnic/Race Group Here] University President who likes to give away free passes to his friends kids that are too dumb and/or lazy to get in on their own merit, he hires people who are similar who also give away free passes to their [Insert Ethnic/Race Group Here] friends. The racial makeup of the school, over several years, begins shifting. If you're taking race data, you can see this because you have other benchmarks to compare against. Without race data, this kind of corruption can occur unchecked.

As with most anything in the world, a blanket can/can't is not the best solution. Similar to the initial forming of the US. They were sick of centralized nation power, so they tried to have a completely minimalistic central government and give most all of the power to individual state governments. That was a mess, chaos ensued, interstate commerce and travel was a nightmare. The lasting government ended up being something in-between.

To have a better liklihood of passing, a racial fairness law needs to be somewhere in between how it is now and requiring that no race data be collected at all.

 

I think affirmative action is no good, and the Colleges are stupid for using it.. and when I fill out forms I don’t tell them what I am either.. But for things that are important it is good to know.. But others it isn’t..
