Just a heads-up.
280 From San Bruno to Mountain View will have zero tolerance today for speeding. You go over 5 and you are going down.
Drive slow and get out of the fast lane then entertain yourself with watching people get pulled over.

They usually make announcements on the radio for locations I guess as a courtesy. Hah! I was warned by my cousin on the 80 to Reno section because she saw them parked around the Vacaville area about 2 weeks ago. I had to set cruise control to 69. Good thing that number is cool.
cant exactly blame them for cracking down on 280. on the stretch from san jo to SF the average speed in the fast lane seems to be higher than most race circuits. (not that i dont try to set personal best records every time i drive that myself though)
This explains why I saw 3 CHP cruisers on 280 coming home from work, two of which were Camaros (?) with police roof lights so small and slick that you would not see it unless it's right up behind you. By this time they're probably flashing because you're 6 miles an hour over.
Watch out for the white Camaros. They look like any other car.

Also, i'll reinforce the recommendation mentioned already: Watch out for those Camaros w/ the "stealth" lights up top!

I drive Cupertino to San Mateo every afternoon Monday thru Thursday. The flow of traffic is 80 mph and the fast lane moves at 85-90. It really sucks.

I was heading north on 280 and got a laser hit on my V1, which can happen from LED brake lights, so I nearly dismissed it, then I noticed a car on the right shoulder on top of the hill ahead. By the time the V1 went off again I was already slowing hard to 65, which pissed off the Lexus behind me so he blew by on the right and cut back into the left lane and that was when the V1 went off a 3rd time. The cop was on the radio when I passed, and traffic in the right lanes had bogged up pretty good, so he couldn't really get out into traffic. My exit was next and there were 3 more CHP up ahead.
A coworker got a ticket for 72mph coming into work, and another said a cop passed him on the shoulder at like 100 kicking some debris up into his car, probably going after a Porsche that had passed him a minute before.
Time to pay extra attention out there.
