^^ This. I wish they would let the usdm have the Levorg. I'd be all over that. I really don't like the styling cues on the doors and the swept wheels??? Yuck.

For the life of me I haven't been able to wrap my head around the fact that companies don't bring their amazing wagons to the US Market. Out of any market in the world it makes the most sense to have them here.

We are overflowing with people driving trucks that don't need them, SUV's and mini vans.... part of that is the lack of reasonable wagon options. They put out "wagons" that are really just hatch backs marketed towards active young people and commuters that want more head room for the car pool.

Meanwhile other countries are getting real turbo subaru wagons, AMG wagons, M5 wagons... way better LGT wagons. Etc.

They should have never gotten rid of the LGT manual trans wagon... or the FXT manual trans for that matter.

But what do I know.

Ray, stop using this weird thing called LOGIC.

There is simply no market for "normal" wagons in the 'Murica, United Stated Of. Here people concern themselves more with what they WANT to have not what they actually NEED (status and practicality wise).

That's just our culture unfortunately, that has bred and fostered a sense of warped sense of entitlement.

For example, how many regular people with said trucks actually DO tow 7,000lbs, climb 35% approaches and/or wade through 10 feet of water? None, zip, zilch, zero, null. But how many want to SAY they can do all of that (if they can even be bothered)?! Every-f*cking-one.

"Practical wagons" is something poor peasants drive...which is why there has been such a boom in lifestyle/luxury/whatever "crossovers" (aka lifted overpriced wagons)...because people want to FEEL important and that they have the option to do something cool even if they never leave the dangerous waters of the local suburban shopping mall.

By this thinking that means Subaru will be releasing a full size pick up in North America any day now Called the MURICA

Full size wagons generally don't do well here. So it isn't that people don't want them, it is that not enough people BUY them as per above. The sheep buy Camry/Accord/Altima/Sonata or a big SUV they don't need and are perfectly content in running around clogging up the streets with their boring cars.

Subaru pick up?! You mean like a 21st century version of the 'BRAT' only named 'MURICA'? Oh can I get a hell to the YEAH?!?

And full size-ish wagons actually do very well here...when put into crossover for. The current Audi All-road is nothing more than a lifted warmed over EU market A4 Avant...but with a 25% mark up. Same thing with BMW X1, MB GLA/GLC, Subaru Outback (yes I went there), etc.

For whatever reason 'station wagon' is a dirty dirty word in this country and an image that no one wants to be associated with

Manual Baja turbo lol.

The Outback does well, but that's basically an SUV (hello, Tribeca lol). My daughter has one. All-road sold a lot when it came out and now I see very few of them. I actually meant S4 Avant, not A4

When the FXT pulls away from tards on the street the look is always classic, at which point I don't care what you associate me with

These two Hondass proved to Japanese car makers (incorrectly) that Americans don't want wagons, IMHO.

Never mind it looked like J-brady bunch and was frumpy and ugly as hell.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...10-12-2009.jpg

Never mind that it was a 2 door, underpowered compared to it's RSX brother and the price difference didn't reflect that, looked like a pudgy chrysler minivan, was a bit underwhelming to drive.

HEY JAPANESE CAR MAKERS.... it's not "wagons" American's won't buy... it's "UGLY WAGONS".

Only Mazda gets what Europeans brands have known all along.

The RSX and Civic hatch of that era used a terrible front end geometry making it handle weird. Though I liked the cars, I would not have bought either of them after driving both.

These might not be the prettiest or best driving Honda's but damn those two make awesome daily beaters (as far as used cars go)

I love those Accords. They are such nice cars and the wagons are great. Seriously nice driving, good handling and a great manual shifter for a FWD.

I enjoyed the Civic Si/RSX as well, but I did prefer the Integra. A friend had an '03 Si Hatch and I spent a lot of time driving it (when I had my R32 to compare it to). I liked it a lot, but then, it had a really nice Tein coilover setup while being otherwise stock. Seemed under-powered and the shifter took some getting used to, but a nice car.

So true about the culture thing. It seems to be infective as well. My bro-in-law is here from Sweden while he completes his flight training. He picked up a really sweet '99 C280 sport for around $3k and that seemed to make a lot of sense. Now he has a '99 Dakota 4x4 "because V8 bro" and the Merc is sitting, sometimes getting parking tickets. No actual need for a 4.7L V8 truck that gets ~12mpg. The Merc is for sale and shoot I am thinking of picking it up.

V8 BRO. F F F F U U U H H H H.....

I want a Levorg.

That is all.

Car Info: 2014 Subaru XV (Crosstrek)
Still no confirmation about the 5th generation Impreza having a manual transmission.

The latest info I got from a Subaru of America representative shows that Subaru is still being very secretive about the 5th generation Impreza...

Here's the said email from that Subaru of America representative:
I have checked for update on the 2017 Impreza manual transmission and information is still limited. More information is still forthcoming and will be release on Subaru.com in the coming months. Below I cut and pasted some trim level information I came across.

Thank you for your time and patience and I will direct you to check in from time to time with Subaru.com on new press releases for the upcoming model year. Should you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me at 1-800-SUBARU3 (1-800-782-2783).

**The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be offered in four trim lines: 2.0i base, Premium, Sport and Limited. The 2.0i starts with an extensive roster of standard features that includes a 6.5-inch multimedia touchscreen, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, power windows with auto up/down on both driver and passenger sides; 60/40-split fold-down rear seat; power door locks and side mirrors; multi-function display with fuel economy information; tilt and telescoping steering column; security system with engine immobilizer, carpeted floormats and more.

The Premium trim adds Subaru STARLINK™ Safety and Security features, 16-inch alloy wheels, the All-Weather Package featuring heated front seats, windshield and exterior mirrors and automatic headlights. Premium 5-door Imprezas also feature standard roof rails (not available on base 5-door Impreza 2.0i Sport). Stepping up to the Premium trim also brings wider option availability, including a power moonroof and driver assist technology systems. (The Impreza Sport is described earlier in this press release.)

Subaru has elevated the Limited trim for the 2017 Impreza into more luxurious territory. The exterior looks more upscale with LED headlights and distinctive “Konoji” LED daytime running lights (DRL) and standard 17-inch machine finished alloy wheels. The Subaru Impreza also has Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them. Judicious use of exterior chrome trim and turn signal side mirrors add a touch of elegance.

The Limited’s leather trimmed interior features double stitching on the door armrests and instrument panel, and the 6-way power driver’s seat is the first ever in an Impreza. Standard amenities include an automatic climate control system, leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, Keyless Access & Push-Button Start and 8-inch color display. The exclusive instrument panel features white gauge cluster illumination, and new harman/kardon® premium audio is available in the Impreza for the first time. Models equipped with EyeSight technology also include High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. Lastly, the available navigation system now features maps provided by TomTom.

Hold up hold up...is that a retractable bumper cover that doubles as a bike rack?! Forget the bikes...THAT option should be government mandated instead of brake assists and lane departure warnings
