Ford has a long history of doing cool concept cars that never see the light of day. Example:

I like the gt350r and 2016 Raptor concepts. It'd be cool if they actually release this concept!

Is it just me or is the concept not very original? It looks like the front rips off a Lambo, canopy is Ferrari and rear is Porsche Carrera GT?

Yet the last time Ford showed off a gt concept back in 2003 it went in to production.

Also I believe it was a few months back jalopnik did a feature on the original gt40's history and said something that may push this forward. 2017 will be the 50 years since Ford has raced and won in Le Mans with the GT40

Don't get me wrong, it's really cool; but
It also looks like a Hybrid of McLaren's

I mean sure I can see how you would think that, but its styling look much more similar to the original GT40 which predates both of those McLarens.

You know what, I can see original GT40 in the macs.

I love the GT40 and I just finished this book

It's not an "American muscle car". It's an American sports car/race car/supercar. It can have whatever the hell engine makes it fast. If that's a TT V6 then so be it. Performance is about the only thing that will matter and I'm sure it has that in spades.
