It was super rare, but there's actually a Trans-Am with the Same engine 3.8 Turbo.
I've never seen one in person, but they are supposed to be absolute brutes

The V6TT also goes along with Ford's current mission statement which seems to be Turbo all the things.

 

That was a fun read - thanks for sharing. I remember these when I was a kid. My pops did some body work for a GM dealer in town, and we got to see a couple of these in the shop.

I also remember the 2.5L 4cyl Camaro. *shudder*

 

 

Except that 98.567% these cars won't be bought by true car enthusiasts, but wealthy "collectors", douch-nozzles, spoiled rich kids, etc etc etc...Majority of them care more about appearances and perceptions. "Dude, isn't that a sissified muscle car with that V6 out of a Fusion?!"...I dunno, hopefully I will be wrong.

I don't even want to ask how bad that must have been...

I think you'll be wrong because it'll be faster than the previous version and is still a FORD GT. Collectors and enthusiasts are not mutually exclusive (though the majority might be)

They will not have a problem selling every single one of these they produce.

After hearing it start up and them "revving it" (just a little blip) I like it. Still iffy on the looks though. A lot of car companies are going European styling.

 

Ford has said it will definitely race at lemans, my guess is they are laying their cards down if the engine can prove itself there it will prove it worthy to the customer. The ecoboost v6 has been being used IN dp prototype in grand am already.
