saw pics of the new festiva a while back....looks pretty cool, but i vowed never to buy a ford after the black 5.0 gt i wanted for my first car broke down on a test drive. i was getting on the freeway onramp, and salesdude tells me to, "PUNCH IT!" i hit the pedal, and......KACHUNK, KACHUNK, <silence> had to literally BEG my pops just to go check one out too.
we got stuck for 2 hours on the freeway until S&C's tow truck finally came. diagnosis: some idiot forgot to fill the dang motor w/oil!? how the heck does a new car leave the factory w/out oil?
got back to the dealership and salesdude had the nerve to ask, "so, wanna try another one?" no apology or anything.....needless to say, my pops just walked out w/out a word.
so, yeah, even if they drop a 500hp, 1800 lb, Festiva or Focus w/Jessica Alba on the hood, Scarlett Johannson in the trunk, & a 100 yr/1 Million mile warranty for 15 grand, i ain't getting one.

I saw the same Kermit Green EU spec model near my office in Redwood Shores. I like it but...I don't know why this bugs me with the realities of today's global economy but it irks me a little that the US spec version will be built in Mexico.
