Not too crazy about how it looks, and at $70k, it'd have to compete with the z06 (and maybe a low mile Noble)? Now, if they price it at 50k, I'd be on my way to the Nissan dealership

Time to ask the boss for an early promotion.... and pay raise..... and then go rob a bank.

As for the 350Z/G35 comments, Nissan said the new GT-R does not share it's platform with any other vehicle. It's a pupose built Porsche chasing chasis.

$70k looks like the absolute minimum msrp but I am 100 percent sure people will mark them up to at least $90k, if not $100k the first year.

Shelby GT500's were marked up $20k from 42 to >65 - however I think there are a lot more people who must have the GTR than the Shelby!

So very fortunately my friend working at Edmunds assures me he has the connections to get one at MSRP no matter how much they are marked up - but he'll probably keep it for himself so I'm gonna have to sell my soul plus the souls of unsuspecting victims, to pay for the markup

The car is looking good. Even if it's a 350z / G cross, people will love it. Everyone I know loves the styling of the 350z, and the G35's look nice, so the Skyline is just going to be a beast.

but why wouldn't they use the 350z / g35 platform as a starting point? it's an excellent platform with good balance and handling right out of the box. and the g35 can fit an awd drivetrain in the sedan, so that's another plus for it.

It's already a Porsche chaser. It has better lap times than a 996TT. It's looking more like 450hp than 500hp. THe 350Z chasis is good already. My guess Infinity/Nissan is already taking preorders and will sell out even at the high price.

So imagine how good the new chasis is.

^^^if i had to guess...because it is a SKYLINE, engineers must have required their own chassis build...much like the Z06 rides on. the one negative about the FM platform is that it is heavy...as its called upon to do many things...350z, G, Murano, FX...etc...

i'm interested in how much its going to weigh. i can't imagine its going to be in the 3200 range like the Z06. i hope its not in the 3800's like the Shelby. if they come in at 70K and its heavy...thats going to force alot of folks to look else where...like a Z06...!!!

having said that, at 70K...twin turbos?...awd?...they might get me...!!!
