I am waiting to see how the new 08 WRX looks. I am betting that they will not release it untill late 2007, or early 2008.
The 06 came later then the 04/05 models did.
The one thing I want to see more of is better steering and less front end plow from the factory.

i don't know about subaru's claim of the limited having the same performance as the regular sti - you have to figure with the sunroof (structural rigidity) and the different weight of all the extras (heated seats, full leather throughout, different rims, sunroof system, etc) have to make some difference in some performance aspect(s) of the car... or maybe the 300hp (now 293) engine just doesn't give a crap about those things... :-) any comments on that?

Question for you... What does weight have to do with HorsePower numbers??? Performance numbers yes, but not engine output. not to be rude, but think first. now if the 0-60 and 1/4 where the same then I would worry about lies from the Star Camp!

Either way, it doesn't really matter how fast a hybrid can accelerate so long as it can make it to 65 eventually. It will still destroy a GT35R STI with 500whp in morning traffic...

I see Jooboy, Thanks I miss read or at the very least did not reply to the correct comment... sorry about that I was trying to respond to the person saying that it had less horsepower due to the weight added or a de tuned engine, I apologize Jooboy.
The new HP numbers are from the new Ratings. That is all. wonder what happens to the DYNO's now? ;-)

I really doubt that there is much added weight in the STI Limited. I don't think that they added any more than 100 lbs. to the car, which is less than the difference between having a passenger and driving by yourself.
The sunroof probably weighs 40 lbs., the seat heaters a couple pounds, and the leather not that much more than the suede that the car currently uses... unless the STI Limited comes with a lot more sound insulation... which is possible... but I really doubt that they'll add more than 20 pounds of it. Remember that they are trying to keep costs low as with any other production car... so it's probably just going to get the same amount of sound insulation as the regular WRX if it gets any at all...
While the Limited might not be faster, I really doubt that its performance figures are going to be worse than 2-3% down from the regular STI in terms of 1/4 times/mph and handling measurements (grip, time through courses, etc.) . The weight in the roof will affect performance since it is at the highest point in the car's construction, but it's not going to make the car that much slower. If anything, the STI Limited will pull better up top because it doesn't have the aerodynamic drag from the huge double wing setup that the other STI must drag around at 65+.
The buyer of an STI Limited is also not going to be as concerned with extracting that last half second out of the car at a track than the typical STI buyer. While Limited buyers will likely have an appreciation for performance (they are buying an STI), they won't be trying to win any autocross or time trial championships with their cars.

well said, smurf~
i think the idea of the limited smart on subaru. it's something that mitsubishi can't do with the EVO since the entire car screams "rice burner" and no amount of changes will make it look conservative enough to attract the crowd that subaru is going for. the other competitor in the sti/evo market segment is the neon srt4... and a neon is a neon. we'll leave it at that...
i was at the NY international auto show this past saturday and saw the limited and it looks awesome. i especially like the black brembo calipers; a real subtle cue. anyone else see it in? opinions?
