Well, because supplies are limited. Considering that there will only be 400 each of white and grey cars sold in the U.S., Subaru is going to want a pretty penny for them. Add to that the extra money the stealership will try to squeeze out of you in a little addendum to the window sticker known as "market value adjustment", and you might be lucky to buy one for under $40K!
