Well being that this IS the bay area forum, I don't think we will run into TOO many issues. We can have someone manage all of it - take orders for the spoilers and paint colors and then they recieve all of the spoilers and they take all of them to the paint place. At that point, people would then pick up their spoiler, and depending if people want to drill their own trunks or not, maybe a group install deal or we can get someone who knows what they are doing dedicate a day and help people out with their cars?

What do you guys think about it? If enough people want to go for it then group buy? =P
I meant like if enough people want to go ahead with this i will try to organize something with SGP. I sent the e-mail and if they are down then we will get someone to organize all of this. I just wanted to get the ball rolling

I want one but I'm not willing to go through the hassle or spend the money I B broke. I don't understand why they didn't make them in all the current subaru colors. If you have an STI Limited then you already have the spoiler so there is no need to buy another one. Who's the bukkake sponge that decided to only paint them in silver and white?

It comes in the colors the STi limted will be in. Same reson you can't get an STi whale tail in sonic yellow

I may work for an Acura dealer, but I think this story is true for most OEM suppliers. The vehicle manufacturer doesn't usually produce the spoilers themselves, they farm-out that kind of work to someone else.

Since the STI Limited only comes in white and grey, Subaru only tells the spoiler company that they want white and grey spoilers. It helps keep production costs down, since the supplier doesn't have to have several different colors of paint on hand, and reduces the possibility of a part being mis-packaged because you only have to keep track of two colors. BTW, Subaru sells the spoilers not as an add-on for cars that don't have them, but to replace the ones that get crunched in a rear-end collision (or for those guys who have experienced extreme oversteer ).

Just be happy that a white spoiler is an option. Could you imagine the hassle of trying to repaint one if they only came in black or red?

This was mainly my point : If you have an STI Limited then you already have the spoiler so there is no need to buy another one

i understand your point, but when they make the parts for the car builds they only worry about the colors they need to make the cars.

my cars PSM, I'm in the same boat.

If paint is an issue, you could always hunt down a Mines CF one for $650
