you can always wait for a better deal to come around.
I've seen three 05 stis with less than 20k miles or near and for about 23k. I got mine with 18k miles for 23000.
was selling for 19K even!

I would never buy used from a dealer, they will lie to their own momma to make a sale!!

Buy private party. I bought my 04 STi from an 'old dude' and was able to talk to him in person. Talking to the previous owner makes a world of difference. You can ask anything you want from what mods the did to what kind of oil they used. Then you can make an educated assumption about how the car was taken care of- you can usually tell if they are lying or have something to hide.

So I mentioned to the seller that I want to inspect the car by Kevin at AHQ...Dude practically flipped out and turned the whole thing around on me...He said I was hesitant to buy and that he has other interested parties that are willing to buy right there...

Well Whatever....Seems like he has something to hide!!!

Im even paying for the inspection, heck i'll even give him gas money to drive for the inspection..

Good decision?
What kind of seller won't allow an inspection? Run away from this deal.

Jeremy had an 04 STI with a fresh motor that made good power for cheap last I heard. Krinkov is his i-club name, PM him.

Don't fall in love with a car before you buy it.

Like I said before I'm an old guy and I've bought a lot of cars over the years.

If the owner balks at an inspection tell him to put up or shut up. It's really quite simple. I've actually offered to pay a seller an extra few hundred bucks for a 30 day warranty. If they hesitate...walk away. And his line about having other people wanting to buy it, well that's an old one and in this economy there really aren't too many people out there with that much disposable cash on hand. I'd offer him $17K...take it or leave it.

If he doesn't agree to YOUR terms it's time to move on and forget about it.

Thanks..I decided not to even deal with the car..Usually if the car is ment to have been mine, none of this would of occured...which ment stay away!!...

So now Im back in the same boat..Looking for another STi...

I want to thank everyone who helped me....Even though I haven't met you guys yet..Hopefully another STI will come my way to meet u guys at the meets..
