i dunno about short shifter, but warmish but not hot tire pressure for me is 34 all around. 28 on a cold day with cold tires.

well i guess some shifters are notchier than others. Mine is really notchy but i've tried out other wrx shifters and some are smoother than others.

Yes, those are bushings. I didn't apply any extra grease to either the shifter end or the bushings - just wiped the old grease onto the new parts. It doesn't take much.

I use more pressure than most people but still well under 40 lbs on the RE92s. I also keep the same 3 lb bias recommended by Subaru between front and rear because like a front-wheel drive car most of the work is performed through the front tires.

so do u suggest that i change it so my shifter is more smoother and less notchy...it kinda clicks when i put it into gear but it's a rough click and i dont like it ....

I use Kartboy bushings. I think a lot of people change out the bushings at the same time as the shifter. I don't think it affects 'notchiness', though - that might be a function of shifter design. My Kartboy shifter is notchy, too. The bushings take out some of the slop in the assembly. The OEM bushings are really 'squishy' (for lack of a better word) just like the OEM exhaust hangers.

A lot of poor shift feel comes from worn synchros. Instead of trying to make hte shift go as fast as possible, just firmly hold it against the synchro. It should feel like it goes into gear on its own.
