18x8 + 35 RPF1 + suspension Q

i didnt get much of a bite in the wheel and tire section of the forum so i thought id try here.

Im looking to get some RPF1's or something else in the 18x8 zone id like to fit 235's on them. right now for suspension wise i have sti pink springs but would like to lower my car some more to minimal wheel gap as possible. I dont track my car but i do like to do some spirited drives every now and then.
So is there any other springs that could lower me to that ride height or should i just get coils (bumpy stiff rides do not bother me) as long as it will handle well.
i have a 05 wagon without sedan fenders so i figure ill have roll the fenders a little.
if anyone can give me a little info if they have a similar set up i would appreciate it so much thanks guys.

Johann
Johann is the man when it comes to wheels and Subaru's. He's on Nasioc and can fill you in on what you can get away with. Above is his current project.

Wow - talk about a left-field response with that white SF forester^^^

Here is my dearly departed FXT on 18x8 +45 RPF1 with a 235/40/18 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tire. I had STi struts, Epic Engineering springs, and other suspension goodies that wouldn't contribute to the fitment. Not a great photo - sorry.

There would have been no issues with moving the wheel face out 10mm such as with a +35 offset on my Forester, but your wagon may need some fender work to make it fit right. It should clear your suspension just fine. There is literally no reason to go with coilovers at that offset and width.

I'm confused where in his post he said he had a forester?

You'll have to put a pretty good roll on your fenders to fit that but it'll fit. As for springs, I'd go with Swift.

There's a dude with those wheels on his wagon. He has sedan fenders and runs a lot of rear camber but they fit. I wouldn't do what he did but you can look at his fitment to see what you're in for. He had the wheels in the classified section.

As for my recommendations.... dude if you're running springs on your wagon there are only 2... well 3 I ever recommend.

1. Swift
2. RCE
3. Pink wagon specific (I have them)

And that's in the order of drop from lowest to highest...

My next springs will 100% be swift. It's perfect in my opinion. Don't get coil's for ride height. You'll end up with some crappy chinese coil overs and in 2 months want them off your car because they ride like poo.

Cobb springs with 18s
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....ecabf44476.jpg

Cobb makes good stuff but wagon friendly is the key word... wagon friendly not wagon specific. Same goes for the crucial ones if you can find them. Nice spring but it's friendly not specific.

The fxt was just some of his current work. He has had about every subaru wagon made.
He knows what works and what rubs.

But looks like people here have you fixed up.

I run S-Tech's cause back then there wasn't many options for wagons. I'm going to change to RCE's. The S-Techs were great when they were new. Now with over 60,000 miles they are bouncy over some things on the freeway. Sometimes it's flat and bouncy, but sometimes they are bad. I love the look, really low but still functional enough, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with the other (better) options out there.
