Thumbs up +10 for GST

Hello just wanted to let people know that GST is a great shop! like you guys didnt know. I am having my car fixed because of other shops mistakes and Fu#$t up tunning dont want to say any names but they know who they are....(remember a blue 04 wrx.... ahhh got it) . My block was screwed and now bc of my block and car pulling timing my heads are also screwed. GST always calls me when they know something needs to be fixed. People say that they are just trying to rip me off but I know that they are just trying to help and build a strong and trusted shop. I will definetly take my car to them from now on. Even for an oil change!

Damage 7,000+ not sure yet
thats including labor and parts

Cant wait to drive my crazy WRX now with the heart of an STi LOL

Thanks GST, Greg, Mike, Derek and the guys behind the scenes I'll soon know your names.

JUST for the record hahah

OH ok so i am the idiot that doesnt know how to purchase things!
As a customer I buy things that people that look like they know what their selling is good for my car. I just put out the cash!
Now if people want to screw me over thats a different thing. How cool was that ED from EQ came out and tried to clear his name knowing that he is the only person that tuned my car after the unichip.

FYI. Befor changin the unichip my car did not have the TD05-20g with the rc injectors. my car was running with the stock turbo at 18psi with a front mount and turbo back, headers/up-pipe, and a AEM intake, with the unichip.

Also for your information I did not buy the turbo from extream I purchased it from your currently partner Jeremy from CRUCIAL. I bought the injectors from EXtream!
When Adding these two mods you sold me a ACCEsport and sent me a map over the internet so that i could drive to DAVis safely. So I never drove this turbo and injectors with the UNICHIP. When I arived at your house (ED's) You checked my car and gave me this Bull Cr@p that my car has all these cell codes like 50 and that maybe it could be a loose ground! So what did i do I had to drive all the way home with out a tune and pay SUBARU To figure out whats wrong.Paid $180.00 All to find out that it was your laptops software tunning problem and not my car!

So you told me that you could come over to san jose and tune my car at a local shop and use their dyno. I said great when you started to tune my car and had a hard time tunning the car you where only able to put out 260whp with my setup. you told me that it was my injectors or the facts that the shop had poor cooloing system for my front mount, for god sake they had fans that you buy at COSTCO. You also asked me to get a compresion and leekdown test and i did. It had very good compresion and past. To top it off after paying you $860 for the accesport ver.1 and a road tune I was fu$%T over having to pay the shop $200 bucks for using the dyno WTF. So i paid it while You ED not saying a word about a deal we had.

After two weeks my car started to have a boost spike and I called you!
Yes you did come over and fixed a problem that was your responsability to fix free of charge. Fu$% if you would of charged me i should of handed you a jar of vasaline so that he wouldent dry Fu$%T me.

For a While the car ran great but then the car started throwing a check engine light and running poorly. I called you several times asking if you could come over and fix the problem offering to pay. You said you would call me and two months later never did.

So thats when I went to GST where they know and understand the values of a customer and are their to help you out not to screw you over! THanks Mike and DEREK and all the gang at GST for all your help!

So the truth is that YEA maybe ED shouldent have tuned my car if he wasnt to sure on how to tune the injectors. He had to call Mike several times to find out the ontiming of the injectors and i guess never got it right!
So yes it is your fault bc you DIDN"T KNOW HOW TO TUNE THE INJECTORS WITH MY CAR. How do i know Bc when I went to GST they told me to get a compresion leekdown test so they can see whats going on. this was like three weeks ago. SO what was the results! Tomy from GST said that it had good copresion and also past, but he did hear a rod knock on my engine thats why my dyno pulls where not accurate. After taking my engine apart the block was fu$%t and they took my heads to get resurfaced and tested, but they did not past.

So the reason for my engine failure was ED's tuning!he was not to sure how to tune it. My car was pulling a ton of timeing and the air to fuel ratios where awful.

Also my cousin with a 04 wrx took to get his car tuned by ED the same time and now a couple of months later his car is throwing check engine lights and running fuunny. HE only has a turbo back, intake, crusial coated headers, thats it!

So i think people should think twice about where they take their car
But one thing for sure is that GST is the place to be! hahaa

Which shop was it?

Why are you being secretive about it if they screwed you?

Ive never understood why people feel compeled to do this, think they feel embarrased about getting screwed?

either way it just lets them off the hook to screw someone else, better to have a full acounting of good and bad results to let people make up their minds. Goes for shops, parts, whatever. This is why we have the intarnets

well that can't possibly be the reason because the OP already admitted to getting screwed, he just didn't say who screwed him.

For the record:

Felipe (the OP) came to me for a tune about 4 months ago. He informed me of his setup (td05-20G with RC injectors that were sold to him by some other shop). He was also running a unichip at this time that was installed and tuned by the same shop. I asked him about the tune the car was running before his turbo swap and he informed me that the car was tuned for 19-20psi on the stock turbo on pump gas with the unichip. As many of you know, this is extremely high boost for the stock turbo on pump gas and entirely unsafe especially considering it was running on a unichip.

At this point I informed Felipe that his previous tune was extremely unsafe and had likely caused engine damage, and explained the reasoning behind it. I also informed him that the high impedence RC injectors don't work well on Subarus and many tuners simply refuse to work with them. At this point I also mentioned that the 20G was not a good choice for the 2.0 as it would make the car very laggy and not produce any more power than a VF34 on pump gas.

Felipe chose to ignore my recommendations and strongly requested that I tune the car as is and try to get whatever I can out of it. I was very hesitent about this but I figured that I had sufficiently informed the customer of the drawbacks of his setup and provided sufficient warning that the engine was likely not in good health. Reluctantly I proceeded to tune the car. After some time on the dyno and getting the car setup as much as possible, I informed Felipe that the car was running very poorly and that I suspected serious engine damage from the previous unichip tune. I also informed him that these injectors would never run well and there were much better options for his needs. The car ran somewhat decently for some time but after a couple of months at the higher power levels and poor fuel delivery from the RC injectors, combined with the already stressed and damaged engine, the engine continued to degrade and finally failed completely.

I'm not sure if Felipe considers me or the previous shop responsible for the poor performance of his car and the eventual engine failure, but I wanted to clear up the details of this situation as I have nothing to hide here and I know rumors and misinformation tend to spread quickly about this sort of thing. I will let Felipe decide weather or not he wants to reveal the previous shop that installed his unichip and performed the tune.

I would like to re-iterate that the customer was fully warned of the issues and was informed that the engine was not healthy and that his setup was very poorly assembled from day one. So while I cannot take responsibility for the engine failure or the fact that the car did not perform well with the setup, I will admit that I should not have allowed myself to be convinced to go ahead with the tune in the first place. While I did take every precaution and informed the customer of every issue with the engine and injectors, I should have been stronger in my refusal to perform the tune. This is a lesson for me and I will no longer perform tuning on a setup I don't approve. I learned that no matter how much I inform the customer, I can never be sure something like this will not occure and the potential blame and liability I may have to deal with just isn't worth it.

Finally, I'm happy that Felipe has gotten his car running well and wish him the best of luck in the future.

Thanks
