+1 to Subaru of Fremont
My power steering lines nuts became loose and leaked power steering fluid all over my garage floor. Initially, I went to Subaru of Fremont (SoF) in order to buy some power steering fluid. The parts guy seemed rather knowledgeable and a cool person to deal with.
After filling up my power steering fluid resevoir, I tried to tighten the opposing nuts (sorry, I don't know the terms for it). Unfortunately the location was where I couldn't reach it with my crescent wrenches. The only recourse I saw was to drop the steering rack and pinion, something I did not have time for (as it would be my first time).
I went back to Subaru of Fremont and talked to the Assistant Service Manager, Kevin Percelle. Like the parts guy, he was very easy to talk to you and deal with. Although I didn't make an appointment, I dropped my car off at 9am in the morning. The car was ready for pick-up by 12pm.
I brought the car home to double-check their work (call me paranoid) and found everything to be put back well and the nuts tightened properly. There were no mangle parts, and the leaking fluid was resolved. The had also checked the entire power steering lines and the o-ring seals to make sure they weren't busted. As courtesy service, they washed and vacuumed my car.
While having Unit 91 (NASIOC mod) over there made me feel ok it was to try the place out, I feel the experience and the work done has convinced me to go to SoF for work.

Oh yeah, Kevin Percelle said they'll be as fair as they can when judging modifications in conjunction with car issues. If the problem is something like busted struts and you have an exhaust or larger wheels, they won't call you on it and just warranty it. However, if you have a busted gear and you have modifications boosting the engine output enormously (like 280 hp), they probably won't warranty it.
I remember reading when someone said Stevens Creek called abuse for a busted strut because the person had larger wheels (reason was that larger wheels stress the suspension more). That's some good **** they're smoking there...

Unit 91 = "the part guy" = Ryan = the cool guy that tried to help me out with my P0304 and good deal on my spark plug wires.
