06 STi + Sticky tires = fail?

Yeah, but it's better than the sound of a broken diff mount in a Z! More of a bang.. Haha..

aboothman's got it, my '03 would do that if I hit a shift too hard or such. I also recommend doing the tranny/engine mounts along with those bushings, tightens up the whole works if you are gonna be doing that sort of stuff with it. Makes it nice and tight.

I still get a clunk every now and then and I have all the bushings and then some. I think its the driveshaft surport bushing.
easy to cheak... Jack the car up and check for drive shaft play at spot, its a bearing that is heald in by a rubber surround. Rubber that is close to a muffler...nger. I'd take a look at it. I know mine has play

i had this noise and had the rear diff replaced under warranty.

im running AO32rs right now with no such noise....unless you count the annoying drone from the tires themselves!

check for flat spots on the tires, sometimes when u get a flat spot it will make noises like that.
