06 sti reliability?

Looking at an 06 with over 100k (need a 4wd for snow) and I was wondering how the 06's are? I hear that the 05's were a strong year, and my buddy with an 04 said that he hears that 06 was the weakest year. Any thoughts?

Honestly any year is good, some years had some ups and downs. 06 to 07 not much different. 07 has the best transmission, they all have the same size motor. You just hope the car you do buy is not the troubled one. Really matters how well the previous owner or owners took care of the car!

What maintenance is required at ~90-100k (clutch, belts, etc)? Does the sti have a timing belt or chain? What sort of things should I look for while inspecting it?

I know that the timing service is done around 100k. Usually runs a little more than 1k for that one.

if the price is good and the comp/leak down comes back good why now, a stock or stage 1 sti can run forever as long as its not a 2007 lol
