I rarely see ANY Lgt's around the bay area and I drive literally EVERYWHERE, ^sorry but 100 miles really doesn't do justice. Ask the people out at the meets. It took me a while to find mine even. They're not as common as you think they are, Yeah the wagon 5 speed is the rarest, well.... 07 Spec b to be honest. It's the complete opposite everywhere else in the world, everyone buys the legacy not the impreza.

Total # of 4th Generation('05-'09) Legacy's made by SIA: 106,716
This includes all 2.5i's, 2.5i LTD's, 2.5GT's, 2.5GT LTD's, and Spec B's. Of those, GT's, GT LTD's, and Spec B's would total the least amount as they're specialty models.
Doing a normal average that makes approximately 22k made a year. I think it's fair to guesstimate that less than 1/2 of those made each year were GT's or Spec B's. All Spec B's were 6-speeds, but there were plenty of LGT auto's. Considering the rarity of manuals in America(and don't even try and tell me that manuals aren't rare), a rather higher percentage are going to be autos as well. See the numbers dwindling even lower?
Then we have 1 year of the Impreza, not including the non-WRX's.
'02 WRX Sedan 5-speed - 20,577 units
'02 WRX Sedan automatic - 2,391 units
'02 WRX Wagon 5-speed - 9,940 units
'02 WRX Wagon automatic - 2,161 units
Total: 35,069
This being the first year, the WRX was in lower production then the following years due to it's sales. That doesn't include the other Imprezas made in just that one year.
Neither car are the best sellers of Subaru, but the Legacy being the Subaru "luxury" model it's rather low production.
I'm not trying to compare the rarity of the WRX and the LGT or the STi, etc. But it seemed unfair if I compared it to the Forester or Outback seeing as they have drastically higher production figures.
Now after reviewing this data, I would say it's very fair to say the Legacy GT is a rare car. I've seen figures saying that there were approximately 25k were made, but nobody has presented real data as Subaru doesn't seem to publish break-outs by trim level for sales. So it wouldn't be fair to use that figure, but glancing up at the above justification, I'd guess it's probably correct.

That's not a bad price at all, I'm actually trying to find an 08-09 LGT Limited myself. I'm being very picky this time though, I want charcoal exterior with black leather interior. I don't really care if it's Auto or Manual this time though (current WRX is manual). Auto might be a nice change of pace. Hard to find a good condition LGT nowadays.

Yes, the lighter interior is harder to care for, but that's pretty dirty IMO.
And from '05 to '08, they made the LGT sedan, they are not that rare.
You also don't see many Spec Bs because they are almost unheard of. I've only ever seen one on the road.
