3-4 seconds is the sort of time you get from 500+ HP supercars.
If you haven't got it properly calibrated, dynolicious will give you some totally crazy numbers.

I find it VERY hard to believe these numbers.
It's just a phone, its not a dyno.
If you want numbers as close to 'official' ones that you can get - use your AP.

does it make a difference if you position the phone in a different orientation? like vertical vs horizontal? or is the accelerometer a perfect sphere and can measure xyz planes?

its not a perfect sphere, its a 3 axis thing so having it tilted will mess up results as it makes it more processing intensive, and I kind of doubt the program is sophisticated enough to handle all that correctly.
