[Dinner] Stir Fry for 2. [pics]
[Dinner] Stir Fry for 2. [pics]
So the girlfriend and I decided to stay the night in tonight, and make some dinner while we are at it.
I'd like to add that i hope someone of the college living lifestyle will enjoy an easy and cheap dinner, and can impress the womenz.
I've cooked this dinner before and its delicious. Home made stir fry. It costs less than 15 dollars and can feed up to 4 people. Unless you're a fat **** who eats way more than you should.
Step 1) Ingredients. here i've taken a photo of everything you need minus salt and pepper.

Step 2) Start off by cutting up chicken into bite size morsals. you may also use pork, which i usually do. I'm not a huge pork fan, but it tastes fantastic in this stir fry. This time my g/f was wanting chicken, so i obliged.
It usually takes a pound or so of chicken, more if you are feeding 3+ people.

Step 3) Brown the chicken, you cook this seperatly from the rest. At this time you can also start to boil water for the rice.

Step 4) Prepare the stir fry mix/sauce. With this particular company, they ask to mix the packet with 2 tablespoons of water.

Step 5) As your chicken is still browning, the water should come to a boil by now. Add rice. In the pic, i show the "boil a bag of rice" from Uncle Ben. It was on sale. I usually just cook rice. Though this was incredably easy. Let rice boil for 12 minutes or so, the longer you boil, with the more water the softer the rice will be.

Step 6) Now the chicken should be done, or close to it. Add the Noodles and Veggies. I just bought frozen cause its so damn easy and cheap.

Once you've added the veggies and noodles, stir it up a bit and then add the Sauce. Mix it up some more, turn the heat on your burner down to a 2 or 3 and let it sit with atop over it.

Step 7) Go ahead and drain the rice and put on a plate.
Step 8) after about 5-7 minutes the noodles and veggies should be piping hot. Go ahead and serve on a plate. And dont' forget the Soy Sauce.
Vwala!!!!

I apologize for the crappy pictures, they are from my phone. (helio kickflip with a 2.0 megapixel camera)

I don't understand why some people do not know their way in a kitchen. I've met people that even find assembling a sandwich too difficult. so sad.
I'll do one on BBQ tomorrow.

nice write up.
what always makes me scratch my head, though, is that you'd need to add soy sauce when it's already salty? it's like when i see people eating sushi and they let their nigiri or roll sit inside the soy sauce, and i can literally watch the rice turn black while they wait for it to be 99% soaked...
