Angry i need boost now

i need to know if i can CARB-legally swap the turbo system from the WRX over to my EJ18 (94)? i think i would be able to, since it would be just like all the Honda " Frankenstein " motors that are running around hre in RWC all CARB legal and happy. If not, could i swap in a STi block and still be able to keep my AT or not?if not, i'll just go to I-Speed USA

You can install any Subaru motor that was manufactured after your car was. The only catch is that you have to install it in completely stock condition (at least as far as they know... you can get away with a few things). For an Ej20 swap, you can use a JDM or US STi uppipe for instance, maybe black silicon IC hoses, and of course a reflash. Stock block, turbo, heads, intercooler, and downpipe are required though, it's too hard to get away with changing them unfortunately. Smog refs are pretty keen on what is supposed to be there.

now the dumb question i have is if i can just swap the block and use the current heads i have in my car, since i am working with a budget? and what about the wiring night mare? would a reflash solve that, or would i have to go aith something like an Ecutek or AEM EMS for ease ? and b/c of the afforementioned budget, i would kie to keep my A/T, for now...

If you don't want to swap heads, you're not doing a swap.
Most turbocharged motors from Subaru are DOHC. All the wiring is different, the sensors are different etc etc.
Also there aren't any Reflashes available for us anymore. You have to go with a stand-alone like the Link or Hydra Nemesis etc etc.

Sorry, I forgot you said you had a 1.8... ouch.

You're better off just getting a different car or shelling out the bucks for a complete EJ20/EJ25 swap.
