external wastegate

I'm new to the whole internal wastegate thing, but it seems there is a lot to be said about an external vs the intenal. I have a 38mm tial from my old setup on the honda. I was just wondering how do I convert from intenal to external. I have the 20g thats internaly gated. I understand about the wastegate on the uppipe but what has to be done as far as the turbo? Thanks for the help.

Check with deadboltspeed.com they are big turbo modifiers, from what I can see is that you would have to have the wastegate inside the turbo welded shut and then connect the external wastegate. Cheers

Unless you're experiencing boost creep, I would stick to the internal wastegate. The only way the external would be worth the cost and effort is if the non-wastegate turbine housing for your turbo is more efficient than the current one. Just keep the wastegate from your honda around until you decide to go to a bigger turbo altogether, and se it then.
