Car Info: 95 Legacy ej22T - TEC 3
can i use a 3 wire o2 sensor with the tec 3?

I just got the tec 3 installed and the car started up and ran, but it was really rich. I tried to use my stock 3 wire o2 sensor but just got an error with the win tec 3.1.1

This is on my 1995 subaru legacy with an ej22T transplant from a 92 turbo legacy.

the oem sensor has a shield, a signal, and a heater wire.

i used the signal as the + and the shield as the - and left the heater alone.

is there any way i can get my oem sensor to work?

what 4 wire o2 sensor do i need to buy if mine will not work?

thanks

dustin

it is best to tune your new engine management with a wide-band o2 sensor. These are readily available from many sorces, but tend to be a bit expensive. Keeping the wide-band in the car is the best idea, but again, expensive. A 4-wire o2 sensor can also be found on the 'net. I know a few people who have had good luck from http://oxygensensors.com/.
