12's in an '05 WRX

Ok, i have been lurking these forums for a while trying to see if anyone knows how to hit a 12 in the 1/4 with a WRX. I haven't seen vey many "affordable" ways to do it in a WRX. I am wondering if anyone had any ideas. My Stock 05 WRX boosted at 15lbs. went 14.3@94. I then gernaded the tranny before i got to make a second pass. I now have the Gruppe-S RA gears cryotreated and all. I am thinking to get the car in the 12's I could do the following:

-VF34
-STi Injectors
- Walboro Pump
- Race Gas
- More Boost!
- Open Down Pipe
- Utec

Any ideas? Let me know!!

Thanx,
Mike

ps. If Preston from Gruppe-S is on this site, send me a PM... i lost your card!

Hey Mike,

The most cost effective way to do do this would probably be the following:

-VF34
-Wabro 255L pump
-STi Pink 565cc injectors.
-TBE
-Uppipe
-Headers
-TMIC
-ECUTEK or Cobb AP reflash
-Racegas

This should get you well into the low 13s and possibly into the high 12s depending on the track and your driving ability.

Thanks,

Geoff

That doesnt sound cost effective... and that also sounds like prety generic stuff that a lot of people have done.... any other ideas?

you could gut your up-pipe and dowpipe get a MBC and a 75 shot.. But your motor isn't going to last that long..This might get you into the 12's

You want 12's cheap, buy a late model Camaro SS

WRX's weren't made for the 1/4 mile, if you want 12 sec time slips you're gonna have to pay, if you go with nitrous you'll end up paying in the long wrong, imo, vf34 and supporting mods and practice

1. I already own a camaro
2. I can drive a 1/4 mile better than 99% of the people here.
3. I have never owned a car that went slower than a 12.8 (until my WRX)
4. Just trying to see if it was possible with this little car, b/c now its prety boring to drive
5. Anyone wanna by an '05 WRX? (i.e. take over payments?)

Mike

Yes its possible, I wasn't ******* on you, but it won't be cheap to get a wrx in the 12's, they were not made for the 1/4 mile

1.I never said you can't drive, but a 14.3 with more than stock boost ain't that great

2.You already own a camaro? yikes

3.It ain't cheap to get a WRX in the 12's

4.Practice with the VF34 and supporting mods to get into the 12's, butthole

Not too many cost effective cars are going to run in the 12's stock. Your def NOT better than 99% of the drivers on this forum. And it seems like you want to sell your rally inspired subaru because it wont do 12's, is "boring to drive" and isnt a camero.

^^Nobody wanted to start sh*t until you claimed you can drive better than 99% of us.

I wouldn't be making claims like that around here, alot of these guys can really drive, besides, you said in your first post that you blew the tranny before you could even make a second run at the strip. Imo, that would put you in the bottom 10% of drivers around here, BUT, that's just my opinion.

No street racers around here. Take it to the strip.

You never owned a car slower than a 12.8, well, maybe you should have done some homework before you bought your wrx, then you maybe you would have seen that it takes a little bit of change to get your car in the 12's.
