Dave had talked to me about this last night, sorry to hear it but at $9k in damage they will almost certainly total it. KBB value is ~$9000 in good condition.

Glad you are okay

The estimator at the shop filled me in that the insurance has a magic number at approx 70% of their calculated value of the car before the shop has to turn it over to the insurance to review. That number was $8800, the estimate came in at $8900. The possibility still exists that it could still be repaired. We'll know more on Monday.

Hoping for some good news!

Even if it does get "totaled".. See how much the buy back would be.

Replace the rear hatch/rear bumper, new headlight/fender and call it good. Then you guys have a true weekend give NO CRAP car that you can offroad even more than you already do in

Then take remainder money and get a new one for daily driving?

it's not just hatch and bumper tho, looks like quarter panel is buckled.

but now that I think about it, yeah if you wanted something to absolutely beat on off road and not care about paint/panels, I'd probably have them total it, and buy it back & fix

Final call is... Total loss.

So before we turn it in. We have decided not to keep it. Rather use the money to go toward a new adventure family car. We are pulling off most if not all of our aftermarket parts and putting it back to stock.

So that means we will be selling the following:

SPT Exhaust - (Will need stock plus $) (7 years old)
Sport Grille (Obsidian Black Pearl) (6 years old)
Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass & Homelink (1.5 year old)
STI Spoiler for Hatch (Obsidian Black Pearl) (8 months old)

I'm sorry to hear that, but I think it might be the best choice.
