New-ish member w/ 08 FXT Sport 5 speed WRB
Hi, I've been around for working on a year, but I've neglected to put up a thread about the car.
In 2012 when I was pregnant with my son, I had to upgrade from my SVT Focus (3 door hatch) to a larger car to accomodate my second child and my two dogs. What better mom upgrade that doesn't suck than an 08 Forester XT Sport in a 5 speed.
Its been a long road having picked this car up from a ricer hack on SubaruForester.org...but to keep it simple,
Here is what it looked like what I got it circa June 15, 2012.
MODS:
-Stock Turbo
-3" Turboback Exhaust
-Magnaflow Barrel for stealth look
-CSS FMIC
-Injen Cold Air Intake
-Hallman Boost Controller
-HKS BOV (Purple Insert)
-EDO Performance Custom 'Road' Tune AKA Knock Knock BS Tune
-18" Prodrive P1 Wheels (Gunmetal) **he painted the gold like a moron...so I sandblasted them then painted them back to the original gold they should be.
-Sti Sedan Springs
-Cleared and Blacked Out Headlights
-Partially Smoked Taillights
-Full Tinted Windows
-Aftermarket HIDs (Restored to halogen because I'm not a jerk)
-'07 STi Front Seats
-Pioneer CD/Aux Player
-Single Din Flip Compartment
-Autometer Boost Gauge **he was too lazy to put it in a pod, so I need to buy one. I will probably get a dual pod for both the boost gauge and a wideband.
-Clarion 12" Subwoofer **the box is huge and takes up a metric crap load of practical trunk space. Unless I can figure out a better way to box this sub and get it out of the way, it might have to go.
-Crunch 500W Amp
Fast Forward to yesterday, a head gasket job two months after buying it and a laundry list of repairs from neglect...I have done the following:
No rough cylinder idle, fuel pressure, oil pressure and overall idle is stable. Coolant temps are stable, nothing is leaking, it doesn't sound like a lawnmower and ZERO detonation.
***
Mods/upgrades are now as follows:
04 STI Short Block (reused my Forester heads)
CP Carillo forged pistons (OE size 99.5mm)
ACL Hardened Race Bearings
Tomei Headgaskets
ARP Head studs
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
VF43 07 STI Turbo
05 STI TMIC
OBX 2.4" Turbo Inlet (Perrin was all sold out nationally, and I got decent feedback from others that it works fine)
Cobb Accessport Stage 3 Tune (34% HP / +33% TQ over stock)
New OE Starter
New Denso 565cc Injector (cylinder 3)
New Coilpack (cylinder 2)
NGK Spark Plugs
Heads surfaced / 2 exhaust valves reseated
Crankshaft Timing Gear Pulley
Crankshaft Timing Sensor
Ground the crank
OE Oil Pump
Gates Water Pump / Timing Kit
04 STI Suspension
07 STI Front Seats
Custom sub box in the trunk, molded into the interior and fit into the wheel well
12" Kicker Sub w/ Rockford Fosgate AMP
02 STI hoodscoop
Perrin Exhaust Hangers
About 90% of what is listed above was completed in my garage in the last month and a half by my husband and I. We tracked down every little detail that was caused by abuse from the previous owner. What a journey. I have a few odds and ends I want to change eventually, but nothing as major as what was just undertaken.

That 510 is an amazing example. I would love to see that 510 in person some day.
Also, the Fozzy is very nice as well! My coworker has an FXT Sport as well. He also has Prodrive wheels. Hahaha

**
Posts thread about the Forester, turns into 510 thread. If anyone would like to know more about the 510, the April issue of Super Street did an article on the car.
