Strange noise from car HELP.
I have a 2006 wrx with about 58000 miles. I have a turbo back exhaust with a down pipe along with a cobb accesport. I've been noticing a strange noise while driving, the noise happens when I'm switching gears usually between 2nd and 3rd, it also happens when I'm in 2nd or 3rd and I let go of the gas and the rpm drops down betweend 3-2. Its sounds like a little rattle coming from the rear of my car. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the cause of this problem might be or how I can further dig into the problem. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I had similar problem, rattling noises coming from front of the car after installing my turbo back. Fixed it, my exhaust was touching and every time switching gears, revving up or letting go of the gas I could hear that noise,
My advice is :
Lift your car up, go under the car and try to shake your exhaust. I bet your exhaust touches the frame and makes that noise.

If that exhaust shaking is the problem you may want to look into some aftermarket exhaust hangers like Kartboy's or similar. They are also available in a "long" (3/4 inch longer than stock I think) version if you think that would give it the spacing it needs to not rattle.
I would look at where the exhaust passes by the rear diff. It is common for the cat-back section to hit the bolts on the driver side of the rear diff.

Hmmmm!
i had a similar problem. did this start happening after the installation of the exhaust? im wondering simply cause it could just be a heatshield that broke a tab or somthing just loose if you know for sure its at the rear of the the car then i would just check every thing possible with someone in the car reving the motor and locate exactly where its coming from. if it doesnt happen unless the car is under load then i would suggest letting some one else drive the car and follow them from each side of the car and see if you can hear that way. the other question i have is do you have a loud sound system. something could have rattled loose. in my case it ended up being in the front of the car and my turbos heat shield snapped two of the tabs off and was rattling. good luck, those rattles irritate the **** out of me.
