depends on area

STi prices depend a lot on area. I can sell one for under 30K (plus tax), but other dealers in other regions may not be able to do this. $32 plus tax is too high.

i'm all about customers saving money-
but why in the world would you want to sell the cars so cheap? its not like its a high volume car where you get bonuses for putting out numbers... its pricing like that that makes resale value so low - especially when we are selling a car way below msrp... on a forester, regualr impreza.. i can see that. but not on a car that is limited to 4,500 units a year...
i'm not blasting you, but i'd like to see these cars sell what they are actually worth- like i said, saving customers money is good but so is making a profit-

freshpl, the prices you listed are good. jump on it unless you can do better.

low priced STi

GDogg, I hear what you're saying about the pricing. Ideally (from a dealer perspective anyway) every car would sell for sticker because demand is high enough to warrant it. Unfortunately, in my area, that's what these cars go for. We have no shortage of supply (remember, you're in Hawaii, and I'm 15 minutes from the East Coast Import facility), the only shortage we have is space. The dealer I work at now in Providence pays twice as much in rent for our showroom and enough lot space for about 60 cars on site, and another 150 or so in a satelite lot than the dealership I used to work at (in Central Wisconsin) paid for 600 cars worth of lot space. This means we can't afford to have inventory sitting around. Sadly, to my owner, an STi is no different from an Impreza RS or a Forester X. If I want 5 more, I can get 5 more, so he wants them sold as fast as possible.
Furthermore, the roads in Providence and Pawtucket STINK (new englanders back me up here), so we don't sell a lot of STi's locally, because people don't want to deal with traffic and potholes in a car like that.
So from my perspective, I'd rather get on a forum like this, and give people that are enthusiasts and will really enjoy the car a really good deal (good enough to get them to fly in or have the car shipped), than sell the car for basically the same price (maybe a few hundred more) to someone locally who is going to turn around and bring it back to me in 6 months because they had a midlife crisis, and thought they wanted a sportscar, and can't handle it, and are angry at me for selling it to them in the first place (like I put a gun to their head and made them sign).
Most of these deals are no trade deals as well, so I don't have to deal with re-selling a trade, which is a problem for me because of my space limitations.

G-dogg, you know how owners and GM's can be. You're probably under the gun as much as I am. You're right, if everyone sold STi's at sticker, they would hold resale value better, which would be really nice, but if your owner was telling you that you had to turn every STi on your lot within 45 days, you'd probably do the same thing I am, because at least this way the cars end up with someone who will appreciate them....

i know exactly where you're coming from- our distributor is also 15 mins away.... we don't get our STi's from SOA. we get em via Schuman directly from Japan.
even with STi's sitting on our lot we hold as much gross as possible. i think its creative marketing that will help sell these cars.

and freshpl, i'd jump on any deal that can get you under msrp otd. thats more than fair- and if possible even try luke- if you can justify the mileage of getting the car- unless it can be "trucked in". now that would be cool.

*oh and i'm currently on hiatus from subaru... i'm @ our sister store (honda). when our store opens up again, i will be back in finance @ subaru*

I paid at or just under invoice; I didn't calculate for the options I specified but it was very close. Southeast PA, where there are several Subie dealers hot to sell you a car.
