New Factory Brake Pads

I don't often post in this section, so if someone already brought this up, Im sorry! I bought a new set of factory pads for my MY03 today. I would normally get a set of EBCs or a big brake kit, but I promised myself I'd leave the car bone stock. (I have a heavily modded RX-7 to play with So, i coughed up the 87 dollars for a new set of pads at the local dealer. When I pick them up, the original part # had been superceeded by a service bulletin that called out for a different part #. Basically, Subaru had been getting complaints about brake chatter so they shaved down the leading and trailing edges of the brake lining. If you look at the picture, the pad contact surface is much much smaller.
Im thinking i should re-think my no-mod policy and just buy a big brake kit....
