Is Carlsen Subaru still the dealer of choice in the Bay Area? If so, which salesperson shoud I talk to? The last time person I dealt with there was Andreas Beckmann when I bought my WRX in 02, which is long gone now. Thanks for your help.

Dude.
I just bought an 05 Subie Leg GT (sedan) from Stevens Creek Blvd. If you havent made your decision and driving your new wagon, go there... I see you are in the city but Masood Mir is the bomb. He gave me a very nice deal (I hope) and made the car buying experience exquisite. I use that word because buying a car most times is like going to the dentist for a root canal. This guy was very good to me.
He happens to have an 05 GT wagon (dark blue) in stock (I was there a week ago). It is fully loaded and i ALMOST bought it but decided on the sedan (more sporty for me).
Anyways... reply or PM me if you want the contact info.

F*CK Carlsen Subaru... rude! :)
In their defense, they were mad busy when i came by but the dude that i was "supposed" to be working with blew me off like i had SARS or something. It pissed me off. It took him 20 minutes to come introduce himself to me and then gave me the impression he would be right back. I waited another 25 mins (I was drooling on the Subies...) but he never came back so i bounced.

Rude. He could have asked me to come back and I totally would have. It's cool tho. I got my Subie exactly like i wanted for the price that I wanted and Stevens Creek was good to me.

You bought yours from Stephens Creek? I bought mine in Reno, but I've been there twice and have vowed never to go back! I wanted a simple clip for my engine bay that was missing when I got the car (no big deal, I just wanted my baby to be perfect) - the first time I went there they didn't even help me but told me to come back later, and the second time I ordered it, only for it NEVER to arrive. So, now I go to the dealership in Santa Cruz which is SO MUCH BETTER.
Sorry for the rant, I hope they were nice to you, but just curious - how much did you pay (regular or limited... options?)

i went to stevens creek once and vowed to the manager i would tell everyone i could to never give business to them. i've never been treated as rudely in any dealership as i was in stevens creek. i went in there with the intention to buy an LGT but left after being subject to their pushy and pompous behavior. i heard all the horror stories here on i club; but thought i'd give them a chance. turns out all the i club stories were now more believable.
i bought our LGT wagon from downtown subaru in oakland. kay was my salesman. we settled on a price in less than 10 minutes, finished the paperwork and off we went. easiest new car sale i've ever seen or been a part of.
before i did that, i stopped by carlsen and they really didn't seem to interested in me at all. it was a slow rainy day and i'm surprised they didn't try harder. besides, i went to oakland and they saved me hundreds without even trying.

I bought the Limited and if mem serves correct i paid 28ish...
I havent seen this happen yet BUT if I do I will come unglued and go off like a crazy person. I really hope that it doesnt happen tho because i really enjoyed the whole buying experience.
I know about being perfect. There is someting wrong on the rear passenger side of the vehicle. The mud flap is missing a screw and a piece is hanging down. Gotta get that fixed this weekend.
