L/F is 1' in lower than R/F
Can worn upper mounts cause a change in ride height?
Anybody out there that can help me diagnose this one? I've had KYB AGX /Prodrive springs on my 02 WRX for about 4 months now. And I've been happy with the set up. After closely inspecting and measuring it seems that the drivers side front is 1 inch lower than the passenger side. I moved the car thinking it was uneven pavement and had the same result roughly 15 in. from the center of the wheel to the fender on the drivers side and roughly 14 in. on the passenger side. I have a stock front swaybar. I do have a rear, could installing the rear wrong affect the front.
I have no idea, but I am freaking out. Worst case scenario-this car was jacked from the wrong point and is bent somewhere. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? Even is I had a blown strut it seems the spring would hold the car up evenly still? Planning on taking it somewhere to have it looked at but any suggestions until then.?
thanks

possibilitys?
From what I've read this could be a blown strut, I'm too fat, bad upper mount(s), or
the spring may not be seated properly. I've no clunking and only 2000 miles on the kyb's but on may be broken who knows. i'll keep this updated when I know more. ...
after more careful measuring:it's more like 1/2 and inch. 50K on my car I'll have the upper mounts inspected.

I have similar problem. About 1" difference in the rear and about 3/4" up front. I thought I might try swapping the springs from left to right and see if it changes it. I don't think you can just swap the whole strut.. that would be a bit easier. Are the struts left and right specific?
Alignment
Hey guys,
I had went ahead and bought the Cusco pillowball mounts to replace the front upper mounts because I wanted them anyway and was almost sure the mount was just weathered. And I even got a second opinion (wife) "Do you think one of these corners look lower?? And she chose the same one. Also measuring from the center of the wheel to the top of the fender. Anyway, when the pillowball mounts were being installed he inspected the uppe mount and said it was fine. It's a good thing the were fine, ended up getting the wrong hardware for KYB"S (Yes, I told them they were for KYB's. Note: Cusco Upper mounts for 02WRX come with hardware for stock shocks.) So put it back together with stock upper mount. Realigned it and now it's even.
So, either that spring wasn't seated properly on that side and the rebuilding of it corrected it. Or it was the alignment or both.

a friend of mine had a honda civic (ugh) he was all pumped up the day we put lowering springs and tokico gas shocks in. his car should have been 1-2" lower. upon completeing the install his car was 2" HIGHER. a very interesting effect. we all got some good laughs. the car handled great. however we later determined that the Tokicos were way stiffer than his blown stock struts. (possibly raising teh car) and also he had recieved the wrong spring kit. he got springs for an accord or something.
this kinda seemed relavent. ok its just a funny story

Not sure if it'd have much of an effect, but many times I point the finger at the side the battery, windshield washer reservoir, and coolant reservoir is on ... the driver's side. I wonder if it makes a difference . . . *shrug*

If it is sometimes level, then it couldn't be loss of pressure in the strut, as once you lose that, you dont get it back.
