any one know where to get a reliable replacement engine for a 2000 2.5rs? my made a rattling/tapping sound at 3000rpms then locked up.

Unfortunately, the two motors are different. MY99 2.5 GT is a DOHC engine whereas the MY00 2.5 RS is a SOHC engine, not to mention different compression ratios 9.7:1 - 10.0:1 respectively.
