Turbo kit swap
Alright here is the skinny i own a 95 legacy sedan 2.2l i have a forcedair kit on it. i am thinking about switching to a jdm 2.0 twin turbo or a single turbo setup becasue my car has had nothing but problems with the kit. plus turboing a na car is n't the best thing in the world. but if i get this engine i don't want to throw away all that cash. can i just switch out the stock turbo(s) for my kit.?
her eis what i nkow and understand.
1. my kit runs 4.5 boost
2. the stock jdm engines run a bit bigger boost (12-16?)
3. i have a boost controller
4. if i make just about (230 -250) hp on turbo kit boost and the jdm uses more to make about the same( i am taling about the single 240 hp turbo 2.0)
5.what is the better option? will blow up my new motor or will it be under powered?
also how much upgrading can i do to the jdm internals? casue if i wanted to spend 3 grand i could run 500 hp on my 2.2? i don't ant to be stuck with just stock hp on the jdm engine i want to increase boost so i can destroy all ford focus.

you asked the questions.
Look, the JDM twin turbo won't fit on USDM cars without some way to relocate the steering system. The JDM twin turbo is sequential not parallel.
Turbo kits don't mesh with factory turbo setups. Factory turbo setups route the turbo piping in completely different fashion than a kit. Uppipe comes up in front of the crossmember on factory turbo subarus and in kits it comes up behind the engine. Turbo suction runs under the intake and out the side on factory turbo, but kits run it at an angle out to the side .... because: Factory turbo cars utilize 4 cams and a different intake. The intake manifold is taller to fit the turbo suction and to accomidate the tumbler generators and the throttle body is almost in the absolute center to provide room for the intercooler.
so chances are pretty damn slim that you can change over anypart of the kit.
Back to the footprint. It's not my job to do the legwork for all your questions. I was meerly telling you what questions you need to ask. I didn't make your forced air kit and you can read about what kind of turbo they use as well as I.
Lastly you didn't specify which Forced Air Tech Kit you have. They run a couple different turbos on their kits.
Last I checked however, the Garrett series turbos (GT25/35 whatever) don't have the same footprint as the IHI turbos used on subarus. So if you have that turbo, NOPE you're out of luck.
However, FAT has a different turbo also, I don't know what kind. It looked similar to my turbo which has standard Ford Style T3 flanges.... which won't fit either.
BUT, if for some reason they use some other turbo... which you should know what turbo you have... if you don't look for a serial number or a brand somewhere on the housing, also look for an A/R number. All these things will help you figure out what turbo you are running.
OR... Call them and ask what turbo they sold you. Then ask what kind of turbo upgrades you can do with your kit. IF they say that the VF series turbos will fit.... then Viola.... that also means that your turbo can bolt up to the factory flanges (exhaust side) then you need to see if you can clock the turbo correctly to get the intake and charge pipe hooked up properly.

oh yeah, lastly,
for the cost of a JDM swap, you could build your current motor with lower compression and better reliability, with a standalone engine management system and not throw away all the money you have in your FAT kit.
Buy a Hydra Nemesis
Get bigger injectors
Get stronger rods and turbo pistons
Heck, the real answer may just be bigger injectors and a Hydra.
I'm setup for 12 second 1/4mi times and I'm still running the stock bottom end with very little driveability problems.
