But here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=380939 Cyrus923 02-24-2004, 08:33 PM I used that to bake mine, its a good link. That clip that hold the light in is a biotch at first to get off. Also, I was thinking about adding angel eyes from this sweet site that has a universal kit, so if your thinking of doing that also, wait because you will have to reheat and do it all over again. good luck Justin Damaged Goods 02-24-2004, 09:15 PM A very long thin flathead screwdriver will help a bunch with the clips on the bottom. Make sure you get all the screws, one is hidden behind some foam.... neenjafus 02-24-2004, 10:15 PM any tips and pics for blacking them out? Pics on a black 04 would be super :) Damaged Goods 02-24-2004, 10:39 PM i thought about blacking them out, but i kinda like how they look right now, but if you do it post up some pics so i can see what it looks like. DizzyWRX 02-25-2004, 04:15 AM blacking them out is very easy. When you've got them open, you'll notice that there are three pieces to the headlight, the clear cover, the main assembly, and a chrome piece that goes in between the main assembly and the clear cover. That chrome piece is what has the orange reflectors on it. Anyway, after popping the orange reflectors out, simply use some black paint to paint it. I recommend a 500 degree engine enamel made by Dupli-Color, which only costs around $5 for a can at autozone. Spray a thin coat, and then let it dry for about a half an hour or so. Then inspect it (without touching it) for missed spots. Spray another thin coat, making sure that you get the missed spots. Just repeat as necessary until you get it looking the way you like. If you've got any more questions, just pm me. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid77/p0e542a0a0a4144a59052bc4f8c32997e/fb36c455.jpg DizzyWRX 02-25-2004, 04:17 AM if the pic doesn't work, here's a link. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289239663 04blkWRX 02-25-2004, 02:46 PM I blacked mine out with bbq grill paint, it may or may not be cheaper than an auto paint. Good up to 1200 degrees but of course that's overkill. I recommend a flat black. neenjafus 02-25-2004, 06:27 PM do you take the chrome piece out to avoid overspray? 04blkWRX 02-26-2004, 10:33 AM Originally posted by neenjafus do you take the chrome piece out to avoid overspray? Yes. You have to. whitelegacy98 02-26-2004, 12:17 PM damaged goods your lights look GREEEEAT Cyrus923 02-26-2004, 12:22 PM You will most likely have to take the chrom pieces out anyways. Things to look out for are.... 1: dont leave fingerprints, youll kick yourself for haveing to take it apart to wipe them off later 2: be carefull with the sticky stuff, have somebody help you to cut the glue as you pull the lights apart, if not it will snap back and go all over the lights whitelegacy98 02-26-2004, 04:03 PM ^ thanks for the tips DizzyWRX 02-26-2004, 04:22 PM Another tip, buy a tube of black sealant to fill in the spots that might need it. Nothing worse than having a slight hole which water can get into. Condensation in headlights are ghetto! |
