I think it is attached to the strut tower wall. It is a little silver box with a grey plug. I just unplugged it and left it hanging. I also have an 04

You may want to just unplug the the relay switch that is located behind and just underneath the glove box if you plan on installing HID. Try doing a search in scooby mods. I would post the link but I cann't search there since I'm not a member.

I just installed HIDs on my 04 WRX wagon. There's no need disconnect the relay for the 04. Just unplug the grey plug near the right shock tower, secure it, and you're done. For the '02-03 WRX, you have to unplug the relay as well. '02-03 WRX are using a (9007) single bulb for low/hi beams, '04 are using h1 low, 9005 hi. Hope this helps....PM me if you want to know how to install HIDs for the '04 WRX. You have to do some minor splicing to the stock wiring.
