heads for my 2.0 swap
Hey guys,
I'm planning on swapping an EJ20 into my turboed 98 2.2L. Are DOHC rs heads the best bang for the buck option? I want to avoid needing full engine management. Anything I should know before I start this project? Appreciate your time..

WRX heads are far better than RS heads. And if you have a turbo on an engine that didn't come with one, you need decent engine management to maximize power and reliability.
i believe only the STI has variable valve timing (in the form of subaru's AVCS) but the WRX's heads will definatly be stronger and better suited for turbocharging, since they were engineered for it.

Nope. The RS heads have really bad exhaust ports, even when ported, polished, etc. DOHC ones are better, but if you don't have them, they aren't cheaper than WRX heads, which are far more plentiful. While I don't have flowbench numbers here (I believe Cobb does) the WRX heads are pretty good stock, and very good when polished up. The STi ones are even better, but you need an AVCS-capable ECU to use them.
