I’m somewhat good at finding squeaks and rattles, with one problem I went as far as taking a ride in the trunk while someone else did the driving. And it worked, I found out what the noise was, but man it sure got hot in there.
This one I just don’t know how to fix. I can hear it most of the time at part throttle under 2,500 rpm’s, I can also hear it when its idling. I found out it was coming from the actuator rod area because I just started to hold onto things under the hood while it was running, I pressed down on the rod and the noise stopped. The noise seems to be coming from the place that connects to the down-pipe side of the rod. The part that connects to the turbo has to much play, and I think that’s the problem but I’m not sure. Even if I was sure I still don’t know how to fix it. Any ideas?
Another related question, how do you know if your wastegate is adjusted correctly? I moved the rod around a lot trying to fix the noise.
Thank you for any help.
