clean VF30 turbo _ SOLD
SOLD THANKS
This VF30 was purchased brand new, installed on a WRX wagon, and run without a problem for about 50,000. This included lots of highway miles and never a problem with the turbo, no oil leaks etc. The turbo was removed for a "back to stock" sale of the car.
This VF30 is super clean, I don't see any dings in the blades, and the shaft turns smoothly and freely. I cannot detect any axial shaft play. I had four IHI turbo's in the garage last week and this one felt the best (the least shaft play). It has the usual small VF crack in the wastegate area. This was totally undetectable on the car and was only discovered upon removal. If you have any concerns about the crack, please use the search feature and "read all about it".
The price is $395. Insured, Fedex shipping is $25 east coast, $15 west coast.
If you not familiar with the VF30, it has the same flow rate and HP potential as the VF34, which is just slightly higher than the VF39 & VF43.
VF30 (460cfm at 18psi, 250-325whp, Bolt-On)
This is the standard equipment turbocharger used on the JDM V7 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
The VF30 is commonly considered the best bang for the buck turbo in the IHI VF series line. A relatively new model the VF30 features the same exhaust housing as the VF24 but a larger compressor side similar to the VF22. The combination of these two parts results in increased output potential without the lag associated with the VF22. Although it doesn't offer the top end supremacy of the VF22, the VF30 is a great compromise between these unit and the quicker spooling models. The VF30 is a thrust-bearing turbo that utilizes the P18 exhaust housing of a VF24 and the compressor housing sized between a VF23 and a VF22.
