Woodward 01-16-2008, 10:46 PM Hey Damian, have you ever looked into P&P and gasket match your stock headers? Maybe getting them ceramic coated? I'll PM you with a site that sells them. Also search on Nasioc for header testing results. Stock P&P'd are known to actually perform better than aftermarket brands. Woodward 01-16-2008, 10:49 PM Nada. DP Woodward 01-16-2008, 10:50 PM Why the stock one is good up until like 500+ hp?? 415whp. damianwrb07 01-16-2008, 10:52 PM 15 hp, better sound ,better spool(at least thats what i read) ive heard good things! 1sick07 01-16-2008, 10:53 PM 415whp. Oh my bad. rabrina 01-16-2008, 10:57 PM :noidea: Woodward 01-16-2008, 10:58 PM 15 hp, better sound ,better spool(at least thats what i read) ive heard good things! Just hit up those P&P'd stock headers. That's what I was looking into doing (before my tranny busted). The 415whp thing was a joke. Sorry J! 1sick07 01-16-2008, 11:02 PM Well i knew it was up there. But i didnt know exactly :D rabrina 01-16-2008, 11:03 PM pm me the site i wanna check it out please damianwrb07 01-16-2008, 11:05 PM i just want a deeper more aggressive tone and i heard a header was the way to go........... well that and 15 whp! Woodward 01-16-2008, 11:05 PM There's a bunch of sites that do this, I'll PM ya so you can window shop. It's a small site, but you'll get the concept. Woodward 01-16-2008, 11:06 PM i just want a deeper more aggressive tone and i heard a header was the way to go........... well that and 15 whp! Not sure headers will give you a deeper tone. What do you have done to your car now? You may need to upgrade from your 13T to have noticable results. rabrina 01-16-2008, 11:07 PM yeah yeah i wanna know too! damianwrb07 01-16-2008, 11:11 PM 13t? rabrina 01-16-2008, 11:12 PM 13t lol? Woodward 01-16-2008, 11:15 PM 13t? ThIrTEEn Tee 13t lol? That's what I'm sayin. :biggrin1: damianwrb07 01-16-2008, 11:17 PM ill just buy the 08 sti and get it over with... then prolly have to start all over again lol rabrina 01-16-2008, 11:18 PM haha damianwrb07 01-16-2008, 11:19 PM ThIrTEEn Tee That's what I'm sayin. :biggrin1: i dont know all the lingo yet 13 T Woodward 01-16-2008, 11:20 PM 13T is the turbo you have in your ride. Upgrade that with some p&p'ing of the exhaust leading to the turbo and the turbo itself. VRT MBasile 01-16-2008, 11:22 PM I don't think P&P will change the sound at all, but will help the turbo spool faster and a little extra power Crucial Racing (www.crucialracing.com) offers a trade service for this. You pay $325 and they send you ported and polished as well as ceramic heat coated stock headers. You then send them your stock headers and they refund you $100 so it ends up costing you $225. They can also put in an EGT bung too for an extra $15 and they supply a plug to fill the bung so you can keep it closed until you actually get an EGT gauge. This info is not available on their website, so you'll have to fill out the contact form (which is how I got all this info last week) Woodward 01-16-2008, 11:25 PM ^ Werd. rabrina 01-16-2008, 11:25 PM 13T is the turbo you have in your ride. IMO. :thumb: Hit up nasioc and do some reading on P&P. There's a few how tos and good advice on what you're trying to accomplish, gasket matching, bla bla bla. subywrex 01-17-2008, 02:20 AM IMO dont go with the equal headers.. you will lose the "wrx" sound that you love.. my advise that worked for trey is get the upgraded cross pipe.. Woodward 01-17-2008, 08:39 AM Damian still wants unequal lenth headers. The crosspipe is part of the exhaust manifold. Paul@dbtuned 01-17-2008, 11:39 AM Equal length headers provide the greatest increase in torque. P&P'ed stock provide moderate gains. Unequal length are hardly worth the effort of installing. 1sick07 01-17-2008, 03:51 PM equal=rice sounding exhaust which is FTL IMO. Edit: Wow major whooops! (third times the charm) Woodward 01-17-2008, 07:48 PM Equal headers = no more boxer rumble. Fixed it for you! rabrina 01-17-2008, 11:24 PM bower rumble ftw NluvwithXLR8ing 01-18-2008, 10:21 PM Some of you guys should actually take woodwards advice. The boy has been at this for less than a year and he already knows more than my 5 years exp. Reading/Research FTW. Try it, dont be lazy subywrex 01-20-2008, 05:05 PM Damian still wants unequal lenth headers. The crosspipe is part of the exhaust manifold. I know this, headers replace the stock exhaust manifold. I would suggest doing what trey did and p&p w/ the upgraded cross pipe.. I really dont think damian would be happy with sound equal length give you Woodward 01-21-2008, 07:24 PM Hey Damian, I just threw down on a set of 06 WRX stock P&P'd headers w/ thermal coating inside and out. I don't think I'll have them by our next meet this Saturday though, but I'll let you check 'em out before I install them. |
