I am installing a stereo stereo system in my WRX and have questions regarding the best way to run cables. I replaced the head unit (JVC HDR1) and the front speakers (Infinity 6.5" components) and am adding a subwoofer in the trunk (custom cabinet with 10" woofer stolen from a Martin Logan Sequel floor-standing speaker, incredible sound). I have 2 amps that will be under the driver and passenger seat (1 for front speakers, other for the sub). I will need to bring power cable (fat 2 gauge cable), speaker cables, and interconnects to the amps from the firewall/head unit. I suspect there are 2 main ways this can be done; first, the invisible way (with removal of seats and elevating the carpet), and the less invsible but much easier way (tucking cable under center console). I'm more interested in the simpler way but am open to all suggestions. Is it easy to remove the center console so cables can be passed from under passenger seat to under driver seat? Can cables be passed along the door sill? Is there enough space to allow thicker cables? Is it easy to elevate the door sill trim without screwing it up? Is it a major pain in the butt to elevate the carpet to pass cables? Thanks for your help.
