Palm Avenue body shop in San Mateo any good?

Hello,

this is for my friend - she got bumped into on the Freeway and the other party's insurance recommanded Palm Avenue as the estimator as well as the repair shop for her. Anyone knows if this bodyshop does good work?

thanks.

Never ever use a body shop that the insurance company recommends.

I made that mistake 5 years ago with my wife's civic after she was rear ended. We went to M2 collision in fremont that Geico recommended and they did a half *** job. Instead of putting in a new trunk floor, they just pounded out a crushed floor and slapped some sealant on it. The rear bumper beam was severely damaged and they didn't even replace it. I was able to get the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair to examine their work and they couldn't believe what they saw. M2 ended up fixing the car correctly and repainting the whole car (original estimate $2000, total cost at the end $6000). By the way, the entire chain of M3 collision (I think 20+ shops) closed down a couple years ago, they were a horrible company.

Take it to a *good* body shop. I recommend Creative Kustoms in San Jose

Was it M2 Collision? I know M2 was terrible in Fremont, and they did close down a few years ago. However, when I took my car to the San Ramon M2 Collision, they did a perfect job, I have no complaints.

Though, I agree that you should always use a body shop that you pick out. The only benefit you get from going to a body shop the insurance recommends is that the insurance company will warranty the work for life. However, if you get a good shop they will warranty their work for life anyway.
