i have a 97 legacy outback wagon. looking for some springs to lower my ride. i put on some gt wheel 205/55/16 and want to compensate for the gaps. heard whiteline makes some for the legacy wagon. any help would be appreciated. i am looking for a nice drop with some good comfort ride
Most people who want to lower the OB resort to removing the longer OB struts as well. If you're looking for a stock ride height, springs might do the trick, but you could probably use some replacement struts as well. Converting to the normal Legacy struts, or replacements from KYB, would drop you down a few inches and make things look a lot nicer.

you might also try asking sybir, cause he's got an outback the same year as yours. his is dropped kinda low, but it looks really nice.

I haven't played around with conventional lowering springs on the OB. I've run a number of setups using GC/GD struts and Ground Control coilover sleeves, with varying results; I'm currently running Tein Flex coilovers for a 02-06.
Here it is on the roll...
