Dealer Brake Job Cost
Dealer Brake Job Cost
I have a 2002 WRX Sedan. At the 60K service the dealer claims that I need a brake job on all four brakes. They also claim that the rotors on the WRX are not made to be cutdown. They are quoting around $900 complete. Is this in-line with what others have paid. Can I bring this car to any chain brake shop?

dont let your dealer do that. 60k is out of warantee, for that price, you can afford to have all four corners of your brakes flushed, rotors replaced with high performance slotted ones, and brake pads replaced with high performance ones and then havea few bucks left...NEVER let your dealer do work like that. hell i think most people have paid a little less than that to upgrade to brembos. like i. good luck with your brake work, chances are you probably dont need to do that much.

All ya gotta do is shop around.
Which brand rotors/pads did you go with?

definitely shop around, it's tough to do a brake job incorrectly, lots of good prices out there.

Every wear item is (brake pads, clutch, windshield wipers), etc. I believe it's a 3yr/36k deal; read the fine print on the warranty; or subaru might even have it on their site somewhere.
I got 4 free brake pads & wipers right at the 36k mark

Wear Item Limited Warranty
Wear item coverage is 3 year or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Items covered are brake pad/shoe linings, clutch linings, and wiper blades.
