I recently purchased a short shifter for my '94 impreza L from SPO motorsports and had trouble installing it. When tring to remove the stock shifter from its socket at the base of the shifter, I couldent get it out! The metal ball wouldent come out from the plastic socket. I tried a pry bar and a block of wood, but that didnt help. Any one have the same trouble? Any tips on how to get it out? -Thanks

 

All you have to do is just pull the shifter towards the back of the car, in a back-downwards direction and it pop out easily, put alittle weight to it
