Anyone have a problem with leaky radiators or upper hose? I noticed a problem on the way home last night. Apprears to be a leak along the seam between the header tank and core, but could be the hose leaking too. I tightened the clamp. Catch tank level is at L, but I don't think much has actually leaked out.
Problem is, my WRX is out of warrantee already. (I'm a salesman) Can say this tho, the car gets better with mileage.
Also, what happened to the Warrantee forum?
TIA,

The clamps on those hoses are crap, especially if you go with a 1.3bar high pressure cap.
I installed one of those and coolant started pissing around many hose clamps. I solved it by using a 1/2 dose of Prestone stop leak aluminum powder. I put it in, warmed up the engine until the thermostat opened, and let the pressure build... The leaks stopped completely after a few minutes and it's been fine since.
If you're losing a good amount of coolant, you might want to check the rubber hoses themselves, maybe it's got a hairline crack in it.

Don't forget the OEM radiator is a piece of crap!

Is it still made by Calsonic? They do make some good high end ones, but the one FHI picks tend to be on the cheapy side yes.

Thanks for the tips. Tightening the clamp seemed to help, I will try the Prestone fix too.
I did notice the Calsonic radiator too. Calsonic is not known to be the best supplier...
Thanks again.

I bet any thing its the radiator. I just had mine replaced under warranty at 27k miles. I could see what appeared to be a coolant stain around the top of the tank at first the dealer just replaced the hose clamp but after a long trip I could smell coolant but it was not really leaking but the green staining would just get a little worse each week and I finally took it back and requested a replacement.
If yours is not under warranty get a after market one the Subaru stock one is a piece of crap.

I barely got 6500 miles on my WRX and began to notice a coolant smell. I thought it was just me. Good thing i got a warranty.
