I was wondering if anybody knows of a way that I could carry snowboards with my '06 STI.

I was looking for a roof rack, but I could not find one, and I need it to be removeable. Also maybe someone has put a bike rack on the trunk and then put one of those adapters for ski/snowboards?

As a last ditch effort I might just have to take out the rear seats and put the snowboards inside, but I want to take more than one other person with me, so I dont want to do that.

Any help would be nice.

i would think you could fit 2 snowboards inside the car using the trunk pass-through.

Unless they changed the design after 04: the STi does not have a trunk passthrough =P

If you goto any of the I-Club meets you can probably ask someone with a rack that fits 04-05' to bring it and test fit it on your car, while the front nose is redesigned it doesn't look like the rest of the car is so you can probably use racks that fit the previous years.

I've got a Yakima rack that I'll be transferring over to my '06 STi. You need to get 4 Q towers, 2 pairs of Q-78 clips, and the snowboard attachments. You might also want to get the front fairing to prevent whistling noises. Oh, and get some SKS cores to lock everything down.

I found all that stuff (minus the clips) on craigslist for less than half of retail price.

It's easy to install and easy to remove.

Get a 1 1/4 inch hitch. I have one on my 05 sti and since frame hasn't changed on 06 it should fit wihtout a problem.

I have Hidden hitch and it works well.. my can take 4 bicycles, up to 6 snow boards, or tow up to 2000 lbs.

using the thule attachments total it costed me just over 350. it's expensive but there's lots of use for it.

How fast can you go with skies/snowboard stuff on your roof without the risk of damage/loss?
