05 Wrx + $1100 = ...

Allright by the end of the day on Monday I should have an '05 with 2000 miles.

I've got $1100 from selling parts off my 1.8T Jetta.

I want to remain stock as much as possible, I don't want to screw up my new car just yet

When I have the money for it and a few more miles on the car I'll get a TBE and engine management, but for now I just want to tighten up the suspension.

I got on www.scoobytuner.com and put this together...

Whiteline Front Strut brace = $160
Whiteline Rear Strut brace = $150
Whiteline Front Sway = $160
Whiteline Rear Sway = $160
Whiteline end Links = $100
Whiteline sterring Bushings = $29
Kartboy SS = $95
Cusco Shifter Bushings = $35

and 15% tint all around = $200

Total = $1089

Has does all that sound? Suggestions are much appreciated!

i guess if your into handeling and thats it then you got yourself a freat little setup.. however if you want speed... go with a good turbo back.. always a good move..... and then get some tint..

nice setup, personally i would have gone with a spring/strut combo but those get a little pricey...and first thing u should do with the wrx for suspension is get rid of those nasty stock tires and get yoursefl something nicer. for 1000 id either do spring/strut or tire and rims. but ur setup is great!

I would split it between a rear sway bar, some rota wheels(17x7.5) from http://subydude.com from 110 to 160 per wheel and some good tires(225-45-17) like some Kumho ecsta MX's.$135 each on tirerack or very cheap for some BF goodwrench G-force sport (my tires) for $98 each!.

My first purchase was 04 BBS wheels on my 05 WRX. The handling change is dramatic to say the least. With sticky tires, wider wheel, and shorter sidewall - the handling responsiveness makes the car drive totally different.

Many people say that different wheels/tires makes the most dramatic change in handling, not to mention the addition benifit of personalizing the car - I would have to agree. Rota wheels are good for their price, but for a little bit more coin, you can get a good pair of used forged wheels.

I agree. One of the first suspension/handling changes I did to my car was to change the wheels and tires. The tires make a HUGE difference in the ride and handling charasteristics of the car. I have 17" bbs with S03's, and it was one of the most worthwhile mods I have done so far handling wise. I would start there, and then move to replace the rear swaybar and endlinks. I love whiteline too; they comprise practucally my whole suspension set up.

Like everyone is saying, those suspension mods won't do you much without a new set of tires.
