WR vs YR?
I'm purchasing a set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires this week. While browsing Tire Rack, I noticed that these tires are available both in WR and YR compounds, for the exact same price.
My question is, since I don't plan to spend a lot of time over 140 MPH, would this make a difference? Are there any advantages/drawbacks to YR vs WR compounds? Will WR wear better? Is there enough of a difference for an experienced driver to notice?

a vast majority of people could not even tell a difference between the two tires if they were drivnig down the road ... and you would be hard pressed to get your car beyond the speed limits of those tires ...
"W" = 168mph
"Y" = 186mph
at really high pressures I have found "Y" rated tires are slighly stiffer but, just barely .... If they are priced the exact same and both readily available I would go with the higher of the two ... typically 1 of the rating is being discontinued be cause the other is a re-test of the same tire construction
